geography

Flußbach is located in the outer southern Eifel , embedded in a side valley at the foothills of the Wittlich valley . 57 percent of the municipal area is forested. The closest middle center is Wittlich in the south.

history

The place Flussbach (Vlosbach) was first mentioned in 1220, when Gottfried von Ingenbach was well off there. Flußbach was part of Kurtrier . From 1794 Flußbach was under French rule, in 1815 the place was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna . Since 1946 it has been part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate .
