Mountain light

Berglich is a municipality in the Hunsrück in the district of Bernkastel-Wittlich in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Thalfang am Erbeskopf .

geography

Berglich is four kilometers northwest of Thalfang and six kilometers southeast of the Moselle . The village extends on both sides of a narrow valley at the confluence of the Brucher Bach and Mohrbach to the Lichter Bach , it covers altitudes between 350  m above sea level. NHN and 400  m above sea level NHN . history

The first documentary mention comes from the year 1228. Originally the place consisted of the parts mountain (on the slope ridge) and light (on the Lichterbach). The church in Berg had its own jurisdiction in the Middle Ages and was the mother church for many parishes in today's Morbach deanery. The centuries-long rule of the Counts of Hunolstein finally ended with the French Revolution around 1800. After the end of French rule, the place came to the Kingdom of Prussia in 1815 . Since 1946 the place has been part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Until the municipal administration reform of Rhineland-Palatinate in 1969, the place belonged to the district of Bernkastel .
