Gräfendhron im Hunsrück is a municipality in the district of Bernkastel-Wittlich in Rhineland-Palatinate . It is located in the Dhrontal and belongs to the Thalfang am Erbeskopf community .
history
Gräfendhron, located on the Roman Ausoniusstrasse , was first mentioned in a document on May 3, 1255, when Nikolaus, Vogt zu Hunolstein , bequeathed a farm to drugs to his wife Beatrix as a widow's residence. Due to the turmoil of the French Revolution , Gräfendhron came under French rule in 1798 and became part of the Kingdom of Prussia in 1815 . Since 1946 it has been part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Since the municipal administration reform of Rhineland-Palatinate in 1969 , the Hunsrückort has belonged to the Thalfang am Erbeskopf community .

The council in Gräfendhron consists of six council members, who in the local elections on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

In 2007 Hans Günther Steinmetz was elected local mayor with 66.7 percent and was confirmed in 2014. He replaced Herbert Züscher.
