Schwarzsee is a village in the municipality of Plaffeien . The village is located on the lake of the same name ( Schwarzsee ) in the Swiss canton of Friborg .
geography
Schwarzsee stretches along the western and northern shores of the Schwarzsee with the districts of Bad, Pürrena and Gypsera and then along the Warmen Sense in the Schwarzseetal via Rohr and other hamlets and individual farms to Zollhaus. There the warm scythe joins the cold scythe coming from Sangernboden to form the scythe , which from here forms the border between the cantons of Friborg and Bern .
history
Apart from the alpine economy, the development of the place is closely related to the lake. The Schwarzsee area belonged to the Jaun and Plaffeien dominions in the Middle Ages . These came in 1466 and 1502–1504 by purchase to the city of Freiburg , which administered both as bailiffs. In the 18th century hardly anyone knew the Schwarzsee except for the owners of the pastures and the shepherds and woodcutters in the area. Around 1750, however, the beauty of the Alps was discovered, which until then had been feared and avoided. During this time, in 1777, the fisherman Peter Schuwey von Plaffeien bought the Ramserli mountain pasture with its sulfur springs and in 1784 built the first bathing house on the Schwarzsee. In 1826 the wish for a road finally came true, since this road was burdened with a toll, the customs house was built at the confluence of the two scythes (cold and warm scythe ), which was to be immortalized as a place name. Thanks to this road, tourism increased steadily. The Gypsera restaurant was operated from the beginning of the 19th century, initially in the old gypsum mill and now in a modern new building. With the construction of the cable cars, the place developed into a very popular excursion destination and local recreation area for the city of Freiburg from 1946 onwards. The railway on the Schwyberg has since ceased operations. For summer and winter tourism there is a mountain railway from the Gypsera to Riggisalp , and there are also ski lifts at the foot of the Kaiseregg .
In 1966 the Bruderklauskirche in Schwarzsee was inaugurated.
Schwarzsee-Schwinget
Wrestling and alpine festivals have been held at Schwarzsee since 1937 . The Schwarzseeschwinget is one of the important mountain wrestling festivals and takes place annually.
