Scott Gow (born November 6, 1990 in Calgary , Alberta ) is a Canadian biathlete .

Career

Scott Gow of the Rocky Mountain Racers competed in Junior World Championships five times in a row between 2007 and 2011. He started in Martell for the first time and was there ninth in the individual, 38th in the sprint, 23rd in the pursuit and eighth in the relay. A year later he finished 68th in the individual race in Ruhpolding , 16th in the sprint, 21st in the pursuit and nine in the relay race. The 2009 World Championships were particularly successful in their home town of Canmore , where Gow finished tenth in both individual and sprint, reached 13th place in the pursuit and won the silver medal in the relay with Kurtis Wenzel and Aaron Gillmor . In 2010, the World Cup was held in Torsby place and the Canadians was 21 in each 55th in the sprint, pursuit race in 43rd and 12th in the relay again better the results fifth at Gow's Junior World Championship in were Nove Mesto na Morave . In the individual, he again reached a top ten position with ninth place, in sprint and pursuit he was 16th, with the relay he came in 13th place.

Gow made his first men's race at the 2010 Canadian Biathlon Championships , where he just missed first medal wins in the sprint and the pursuit as fourth. 2010 Gow made his debut in Martell in the men's IBU Cup and finished 15th in his first individual. This not only won him points straight away, but also his best result in the racing series to date. Things went even better in the 2010/11 Biathlon NorAm Cup . In Canmore he won a sprint and a pursuit race in early January 2011. It was Gow's first senior race in the racing series, in which he had often achieved very good results up to victories in the juniors in previous years. At the Canadian Championships 2011 in Charlo , Gow improved from race to race. In the individual he was third behind Scott Perras and Matt Neumann , in the sprint second behind Marc-André Bédard and won his first title in the pursuit race. With the mixed relay he won the junior gold medal.

At the 2016 Biathlon World Championships in Oslo, he was a member of the Canadian relay team, which also included Christian Gow , Nathan Smith and Brendan Green , who won a bronze medal.
