Seelbach is a district of Niederwürzbach , a district of Blieskastel in the Saarpfalz district , Saarland .

geography

Seelbach is located at the upper end of the Seelbach Valley. To the north of the village lies Niederwürzbach, to the south of it Aßweiler . Seelbach is part of the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve of UNESCO .

history

In 1180, Seelbach was first mentioned in a document as "Selebach". In the 15th century the place became a desert . Resettlement only took place at the time of the French reunification policy (1679–1697).

Seelbach is connected to Niederwürzbach and Aßweiler via Landstrasse 234. Another connection to Niederwürzbach is via the “Alte Steige” road. There are also connections to Biesingen and Ommersheim via dirt roads .
