Sérgio Valle Duarte (born September 26, 1954 in São Paulo ), also known as Sérgio Duarte , is a Brazilian multimedia artist and art photographer .

Live and act

Because of the military dictatorship in Brazil, he moved to London in 1976 , where he worked as an assistant to the Rex Features International Photographic press agency. As a freelance photographer, he followed the rock music of the groups The Who , Tangerine Dream , Genesis , Deep Purple , ZZ Top and Rolling Stones . Duarte has also collaborated with several magazines such as Claudia, Playboy , Vogue , Sony Style (1978-1990), Getty Images and he has been featured in artistic photography magazines such as Collector's Photography USA, Zoom France, Zoom Italy, Newlook France, USA, Japan.

Duarte is a self-taught artist. Working as a multimedia artist since 1970 , Duarte has further developed his work and supplemented it with new technologies and techniques in digital photography and electrophotography , artistic concepts for deciphering and future writing of DNA . In his portraits, he sewed in strands of his models' hair to enable them to be cloned in the future. During the 1980s Duarte became friends with Joseph Pace , who founded the Filtranisme - a neo-existentialist , artistic and philosophical movement - in Paris . In 1990 Duarte joined the group of "Filtranists", which has since grown in size. Duarte is inspired by the surrealist tradition.
