Sewdalin Marinov
Sewdalin Marinow ( Bulgarian Севдалин Маринов ; born June 11, 1968 in Asenovgrad ) is a former Bulgarian weightlifter and Olympic champion .
Life
Marinow was the flyweight world champion three times in a row from 1985 to 1987. At the Olympic Games in 1988 he won the gold medal with a weight of 270 kg. In addition, between 1985 and 1990 he was five times European champion and once vice-European champion. For Australia he took part in the 1994 Commonwealth Games and won the bantamweight gold medal. In the same year he was banned for two years for doping . He then held various coaching positions in the Australian Association. In a 2003 raid, various doping substances were found in his bedroom. He was then banned for life.
