Shattered Glass (alternate title: Lies and Truth - Shattered Glass ) is a 2003 US-Canadian film about the story of the journalist Stephen Glass , who, as a prominent feature journalist and member of the editorial board of The New Republic, forged several articles.
The film is a very accurate and realistic representation of the actual story and is based on interviews with the people involved.
Reviews
Ruthe Stein wrote in the San Francisco Chronicle that Shattered Glass was an impressively irresistible film about the journalist Stephen Glass. Jan Stuart said in Newsday that Christensen was completely and frighteningly immersed in the skin of Glass.
Awards
Peter Sarsgaard received a 2004 Golden Globe nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category for his portrayal of Chuck Lane . Hayden Christensen and the screenplay have been nominated for Satellite Awards .
At the Independent Spirit Awards 2004, the film received nominations in the categories of Best Picture , Best Cinematography , Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Peter Sarsgaard).
The film won the 2003 Political Film Society Award for Democracy .
