Jeffrey "Jeff" Ford (* in Novato , California ) is an American film editor .

Career

Jeffrey Ford graduated from the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts in 1991 . There he was friends with James Gray , who hired him as an assistant editor for his first film, Little Odessa (1994). A short time later he met Richard Marks , where Ford started as an apprentice. Together they worked on films such as Assassins - Die Killer (1995), It couldn't be better and Two Singles in LA (both 1997).

Ford's first work as an editor was James Gray's second film, The Yards . For his editing of the thriller One Hour Photo he was nominated at the Satellite Awards 2003 in the category Best Film Editing . This was followed by collaborations with directors such as Billy Ray ( Shattered Glass and Revealed - Treason at the Highest Level ), David Ayer ( Street Kings ) and Michael Mann ( Public Enemies ) until 2010 . In 2006 he was banned for his work on The Stone Family - Verloben! Nominated for the Eddie Award in the category Best Film Editing - Comedy or Musical .

When the Marvel comic book adaptation Captain America: The First Avenger was looking for a second editor alongside Robert Dalva , Ford was hired. From then on he was also responsible for the editing of a total of seven other comic book adaptations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), whereby he worked with a second editor on all works. In Iron Man 3 with Peter S. Elliot in The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron with Lisa Lassek and four other, most recently at Avengers: Endgame , with Matthew Schmidt . For The Avengers , The Return of the First Avenger and Avengers: Endgame , it was nominated for the Saturn Award in 2013 , 2015 and 2019 in the Best Editing category.

Jeffrey Ford is a member of the American Cinema Editors (ACE). He is married and has a son.
