Shawnee Smith (born July 3, 1969 in Orangeburg , Orangeburg County ) is an American actress and singer .

Career

After supporting roles in Leaving Las Vegas , Armageddon , Saw and The Island , Shawnee Smith made his breakthrough with Saw II in 2005 . She also played the role of Amanda Young in Saw III and Saw VI . She became known in America primarily through television appearances, for example in the series Becker . She was nominated for the Young Artist Award for her roles in the television drama Crime of Innocence (1985) and in the science fiction horror film The Blob (1988) . She also toured the US and Great Britain as the lead singer with the band Fydolla Ho, she and actress Missi Pyle also form the country rock band Smith & Pyle.

Private life

Shawnee Smith was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, the second child of nurse Patricia and financial advisor and US Air Force pilot Jim Smith. When Shawnee was one year old, the family moved to Van Nuys . Her parents divorced when she was two and her mother remarried when Shawnee turned eight. Smith attended Ranchito Avenue Elementary School in Panorama City and then graduated from North Hollywood High School in North Hollywood in 1987.

Smith's first marriage to photographer Jason Reposar was in 1998. This lasted until 2003 and she had a daughter who was born in 1999. She later processed the separation from Reposar in the song Sugar with her band Smith & Pyle. From Shawnee's second marriage to Kai Mattoon from 2005 to 2006 comes a son who was born in 2005.
