In the FIFA world rankings of December 2017, the four teams were ranked 1 (USA), 2 (Germany), 3 (England) and 6 (France), the position of the French women also being due to the fact that they had been since the 2017 European Championships had not played any more competitive games. For the March world rankings, the games are considered friendly games between top 10 teams.

The venues were the Mapfre Stadium in Columbus , the Red Bull Arena in Harrison and the Orlando City Stadium in Orlando . Harrison was one of the three venues for the second time. All three stadiums are equipped with natural grass. The games took place as double events.
