In 1742 the place with most of Silesia came to Prussia. A Catholic school has existed in the village since 1810. The new parish church was built from 1859 to 1861. It replaced the old Peterskirche made of scrap wood, which was demolished in 1863. In 1865 Schierokau consisted of a manor and a village. At that time the place had a farmer, four half-farmers, 41 gardeners and three cottages, as well as a water mill, a stately steam distillery, a brick factory, a house chapel made of scrap wood and a Catholic church. At that time 130 students were being taught in the school. The manor belonged to a Mr. Dehnike. The Patoka Vorwerk belonged to the manor.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 217 eligible voters voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 178 for membership in Poland. At Gut Schierokau, 126 voted for Germany and 20 for Poland. After the division of Upper Silesia, Schierokau remained with the German Empire . In 1936 the place was renamed in the course of a wave of renaming of the Nazi era in Breitenmarkt . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Loben (meanwhile in the district of Guttentag ).

In 1945 the formerly German town came under Polish administration and was then joined to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Sieraków Śląski . In 1950 the place came to the Katowice Voivodeship . In 1975 the place came to the newly founded Voivodeship Czestochowa . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Lubliniecki and to the new Silesian Voivodeship.
