history

In 1742 the place with most of Silesia came to Prussia. In 1757 a massive Protestant church was built. The Protestant school opened in 1767. The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Additions to the Description of Silesia as Molna and belonged to a Herr von Stürmer and was in the Lublinitz district (Lublinetz) of the Principality of Opole . At that time he had two stately outbuildings, one named Neuhof, an evangelical church and evangelical school, a water mill, a blast furnace, four fresh fires, two of which were called Plusczoch, 17 farmers, ten gardeners , nine cottagers and 249 residents. In 1818 the Catholic school was established. In 1865 Mollna had one farmer, 15 half-farmers, 23 outdoor gardeners and twelve cottages. The Catholic residents were parish in Schierokau. At that time the Catholic school had 175 students, the Protestant 14 students.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 221 people eligible to vote voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 132 for membership in Poland. After the division of Upper Silesia, Mollna remained with the German Empire . In 1936 the place was renamed Waldwiesen in the wake of a wave of renaming during the Nazi era . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Loben (meanwhile in the district of Guttentag ).

In 1945 the formerly German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Molna . In 1950 the place came to the Katowice Voivodeship . In 1975 the place came to the newly founded Voivodeship Czestochowa . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Lubliniecki and to the new Silesian Voivodeship.
