"Since U Been Gone" was released in December 2004 in the USA and July 2005 in Germany. It was Kelly Clarkson's second big hit after A Moment Like This from 2002 and one of the biggest hits of 2005. The title stayed in the US charts for almost a year.
In addition, while “Since U Been Gone” was in the US top ten, Kelly Clarkson was in the top ten with her first single “ Breakaway ” and her third “Behind These Hazel Eyes”.

The music video for the single Since U Been Gone is quite simple and is based on the theme of the song. Kelly Clarkson is in her ex-boyfriend's apartment, wreaking havoc there. The video also contains scenes from a performance with her band. The clip ends with Kelly Clarkson leaving the apartment just before her ex and new girlfriend come home and are totally shocked by the mess.
