Skadow , in Lower Sorbian Škódow , is a district of the city of Cottbus in Brandenburg .
geography
The place is five kilometers north-northeast of Cottbus on the left bank of the Spree . Neighboring towns are Döbbrick Ost in the north, Mouse and Willmersdorf in the northeast, Neu Lakoma , Lakoma and Saspow in the southeast, Saspow in the south, Schmellwitz in the southwest, Masnick's Häuslergut and Sielow in the west and Döbbrick in the northwest.
history
Skadow was an independent municipality in the Cottbus district until December 31, 1973, and most recently in the Cottbus district . On January 1, 1974 it was incorporated into Döbbrick and became a district there. As part of the later incorporation of Döbbrick to Cottbus, Skadow became a district of the independent city on December 6, 1993.
