Slaughtered Vomit Dolls is a 2006 experimental film directed by Lucifer Valentine . Slaughtered Vomit Dolls is the first part of the Vomit Gore Trilogy . The two sequels appeared later: ReGOREgitated Sacrifice (2008) and Slow Torture Puke Chamber (2010), which marks the end of the film series originally conceived as a trilogy . A fourth Vomit Gore film was released in 2015 with Vomit Gore 4: Black Mass of the Nazi Sex Wizard .

action

Angela is a nineteen year old, to bulimia ill stripper and prostitute . She ran away from home at 14 after burning down her hometown church. The main plot of the film takes place during the first months of 1994, mostly in a hotel room. These sequences, in which Angela is lying on her bed in an interview situation, confused and talking to the camera, sometimes in an incomprehensible language or spoken backwards, are cut together with home video recordings of her as a little girl, as well as scenes in which a Man commits murders and then vomits over the corpses. The film leaves it open whether it is about visions, nightmares or real memories of Angela. Some images also suggest that Angela was involved in these murders, either watching them or assisting the man. Only through the bonus material that is on the DVD release and further interviews with director Lucifer Valentine does it become clear that the prostitute is in the clutches of a satanist named Henry, who determines her life and forces her to kill him in his murders to assist. The murders are shown very explicitly, the eyeballs of a prostitute known as Piggy are removed, the skull of a nameless man is sawed open and his brain is then eaten. Another woman's arm is amputated and given a guitar to play on. All murders are associated with various scenes in which either the victim or the perpetrator vomits.

Angela ends up killing herself by drowning herself in a bathtub on April 5, 1994, the alleged death of Kurt Cobain .

background

In an interview that accompanied the release of the film on the Black Lava Entertainment label, Lucifer Valentine described four events from his life as defining the film. For one thing , he grew up in Armistan , Australia, the son of a satanic couple, together with his blind sister who had an autism spectrum disorder and with whom he had a kind of incestuous relationship. She often spoke to him in a very idiosyncratic language, which he finally had the leading actress Ameara Lavey imitate. The second incident was the Max Hardcore films, which he discovered while traveling and which he liked because of the violent portrayal. In particular, during this time he developed a preference for vomerophilia , a sexual fetish that uses vomit to gain pleasure. During this time he also met Ameara Lavey, to whom he felt drawn. When she got into an emergency, she went to him and the two became a kind of couple. Lavey entered a bottom relationship in which she gave Lucifer Valentine complete control over her life and allowed him to film her. These ultimately formed the framework for the film. For the sometimes hard and difficult scenes, the two agreed a safeword , which was never used. The last source of inspiration was Kurt Cobain's suicide . There is a making-of on the DVD, in which the actors, like in hard porn films, give their consent to the filming and confirm that they have not been injured.

The film was shot on digital video and shot over five months in Vancouver , British Columbia . A ten-month follow-up phase then began. The images are shown with different effects, such as blurring , black and white , high contrast , fog and swapped colors, sometimes also in slow motion . The same applies to the audio track, which works with distortion , shrill sound effects and so-called backward masking , but also seems alienated by the cast voices of the actors. Sources of inspiration and comparable films are the Guinea Pig film series , but also films such as Henry and Blue Velvet .

The film was released in the United States in 2006. Many film magazines and festivals rejected the film because of its controversial and violent content. Well-known horror magazine Fangoria turned down a review and even turned down the promotion for the film because the DVD cover featured an image imitating the style of a child's drawing, with blood dripping from the protagonist's vagina. Only the New York Film Festival included the film in its program. The film was initially only available on the Canadian label Kingdom of Hell Productions, was released in 2010 in the United States on Unearthed Films , the label of Stephen Biro . The US version was already indexed in 2007 by the Federal Inspectorate for Media Harmful to Young Persons and entered on List B. A release for the German-speaking market was realized in 2014 via the Austrian label Black Lava Entertainment .

Tragically, Valentine's sister died after filming the sequel ReGOREgitated Sacrifice when she was drugged to re-enact the final scene of the film. She had been jealous of Lavey since the first film and felt that she could play the role better than she. Ameara Lavey died on September 1, 2017 in Langley, British Columbia, as a double homicide victim at the age of 34.

The filmmaker gave the film genre the name Vomit Gore and published the two sequels ReGOREgitated Sacrifice (2008) and Slow Torture Puke Chamber (2010), with which the film series was supposed to end as a trilogy. In 2015, with Vomit Gore 4: Black Mass of the Nazi Sex Wizard , another part followed.

Reviews

Due to its explicit content and independent marketing, no mainstream media dealt with the film. In the horror film and splatter scene, the film is considered a curiosity and was also discussed rather negatively there. The experimental character, which seems annoying in the long run, as well as the lack of plot of the film were criticized. On the other hand, the excellent, sometimes disturbing effects are praised.

Horrorpage.de summarized what was seen as follows:

"Tastes are known to be different and so it is also to be accepted that" Slaughtered Vomit Dolls "received very good ratings in many reviews and was celebrated as a new underground hit in the tradition of" Mordum "& Co. Certainly - what is shown may definitely be unique and cross-border, but permanent shock and disgust scenes over the entire duration do not make a good, really worth seeing film. An estimated 95% of all horror and experimental fans would never do this work voluntarily anyway, but everyone else is not advised to experience this either. Besides all the disgust and the scandalous reputation, "Slaughtered Vomit Dolls" is basically just extremely irrelevant and not worth all the fuss that has arisen around him. "
