Sorø Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in the town of Sorø on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 she belonged to Harde Alsted Herred in what was then Sorø Amt , then to Sorø Kommune in Vestsjællands Amt , which was merged into the "new" Sorø Kommune in the Sjælland region as part of the local reform on January 1, 2007 .

Of the 8,005 inhabitants of Sorø, 5,412 live in the parish of Sorø (as of January 1, 2020). In the parish is the church “Sorø Klosterkirke”.

Neighboring municipalities are Pedersborg Sogn in the north and west , Slaglille Sogn in the east and Lynge Sogn in the south .
