The hospital Männedorf AG is the flagship hospital in the district of Meilen . Over 32,000 outpatients and 7,700 inpatients are cared for annually. The average length of stay in 2016 was 5.4 days. Sales in 2016 totaled almost 120 million Swiss francs. The result was a profit of over 2.8 million francs.
history
The Männedorf Hospital was founded in 1883 as an asylum with nine beds. In 1901 the first appendix operation was performed. In 1916, several communities merged to form the Männedorf District Asylum Foundation in order to accelerate the expansion of the hospital. In 1932 the Männedorf District Asylum was renamed the Männedorf District Hospital. In 2012 it was converted into a stock corporation , Spital Männedorf AG.
