Spyros Andriopoulos

Spyros Andriopoulos (actually Spyridon Andriopoulos, Greek Σπύρος Ανδριόπουλος ; born August 1, 1962 in Patras ) is a former Greek long-distance runner .

In 1984 he was seventh over 3000 m at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1984 . In 1987 he was twelfth in the IAAF World Cup marathon in Seoul. Each over 10,000 m he won silver at the Universiade , was seventh at the World Athletics Championships in Rome and won bronze at the Mediterranean Games . In 1988 he finished second and in 1989 third in the Berlin Marathon .

In 1990 he came in the European Athletics Championships in Split over 10,000 m on the 15th place and was eleventh in the Chicago Marathon .

At the marathon of the European Championships in Helsinki in 1994 , he finished 37th, at the marathon of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, 36th. In the marathons of the 1997 World Cup in Athens and the 1998 European Championship in Budapest, he did not reach the goal.

Twice he was Greek champion over 5000 m (1986, 1990), seven times over 10,000 m (1984-1987, 1990, 1991, 1995) and twice in the marathon (1994, 1997).
