The SsangYong Actyon is a sport utility vehicle or pickup truck from the Korean car manufacturer SsangYong . It replaced the previous model SsangYong Musso in 2006 . The Actyon is available in two versions:

  • as SUV (Actyon - not available in Germany)
  • as a pickup (Actyon Sports)

In Ecuador, on the other hand, the Actyon is marketed as the successor to the SsangYong Korando , where it took over its model name. In addition to the SUV, the Korando is also marketed there as a pickup under the name Korando Sports . In addition, the SUV in the CT version is also available as a hybrid vehicle .

Both models are available in various configurations, with rear- wheel or all-wheel drive , and optionally with a third-generation turbodiesel engine with common rail injection and a VTG charger or a 2.3-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with an overhead camshaft .

Compared to its predecessor Musso, the Actyon has a wider track, increased payload and a more economical engine.

The car also has front suspension with double wishbones and a five-link rear axle. In addition to ESP , some versions have an HDC series.

The diesel engine in Europe provides 104 kW (141 hp) at 4000 min -1 . and has a torque of 310 Nm at 2700 min −1 . For the 2.3 liter gasoline engine, the corresponding values are 110 kW (150 hp) at 5500 min -1 , respectively 214 Nm at 4500 min -1 .

In 2008 the Kroymans Group withdrew as an importer of the brand, so it was unclear whether SsangYong vehicles would still be available in Germany. In 2010 there were a total of 28 new registrations in Germany.

Following a bankruptcy protection procedure in 2009, 70% of the company was taken over by the Indian Mahindra group in early 2011, German sales are currently growing, and around 850 vehicles were sold in 2013.

In California, the Phoenix company uses the SsangYong Actyon as the basis for an electric vehicle it has developed . The two vehicles developed in this way so far bear the names Phoenix SUT and Phoenix SUV .
