Imitation of the grave slab of Robert de Flocques

The Roman Catholic Church of St-Aubin in Boisney , a French parish in the Eure department in the Normandy region , was built in the 12th century. The Romanesque parish church has been a protected architectural monument ( Monument historique ) since 1862 .

description

The church, consecrated to St. Aubin of Angers (468 / 469-550) , was originally built in the 12th century. The walls of the nave were renewed in the 20th century. The building consists of a main nave with four bays and two side aisles. On the ground floor, two-tier round arches rest on square pillars , which are flanked by pilasters in the first three yokes and by half- columns in the fourth yoke . The round arches of the upper cladding windows are simply cut into the wall. The pointed arches that support the tower feature late 12th century geometric ornamentation. The crossing tower with its ribbed vault is closed off by a pointed, wooden helmet with a roof truss . It has a stair tower on the southwest side and on its two floors there are only unadorned loopholes . A two-bay choir with a flat end follows the short transept .

Grave slabs

In the church there are two grave slabs from the 15th century classified as Monument Historique . The grave slab of Robert de Flocques, Vogt of Évreux , who in 1441 was Evreux from the English under Henry VI. liberated and died in 1461. The other slab is for Jeanne de Tilly, Jean de Ferrières' widow, who died in 1495. Both tombstones come from Le Bec Abbey .
