St. Antonius (Kümmersbruck)
The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Antonius (also called St. Antonius Abbas ) in the Upper Palatinate municipality of Kümmersbruck, district of Amberg-Sulzbach in Bavaria, is the parish church of the Kümmersbruck parish. The patron saint of the Church is celebrated on January 17th.
history
In the late Middle Ages, Kümmersbruck belonged to the parish of St. Martin in Amberg . The history of the old parish church of St. Anthony begins in 1440, when the country Aces landowners of Castle Kümmersbruck , Konrad von Eschlbeck, made a foundation in 1440, a chapel was built with the local, the St. Anthony the Abbot and the diocesan Holy Wolfgang was consecrated. In the 18th century the church was still run as a branch in Amberg.
In the 18th century the nave was rebuilt in Baroque style . In 1902 Kümmersbruck was assigned an independent pastor and in 1922 Kümmersbruck was raised to a parish . In the period from 1922 to 1924 the church was expanded. 1976–1977 the St. Wolfgang church was added to the north.
Construction
The building is a hall church with a late Gothic , retracted and five-sided closed choir from the 15th century. It is a plastered solid building with a gable roof that is hipped on one side and a church tower with a lantern and onion dome . The nave is from 1728. The church was completely renovated in 2013.
Interior
The main altar represents the church patron. The right side altar shows on the altarpiece (probably from 1750) how Anna and Joachim , the grandparents of Jesus , teach their child Mary . In the altar extract , St. Martin shown.
The ceiling painting shows the Last Judgment and the Archangel Michael , who separates good and bad people.
Bells
The earlier bells were cast in 1874. Two bells were confiscated during the First World War in the summer of 1917. On April 29, 1926, two new bells were purchased from the Hamm-Hofweber bell foundry . These were also confiscated in World War II.
The church now has three bells again, a historic bell from the 15th century (inscription "Ave Maria gratia plena") and two from 1946 (inscription "Sancte Antoni ora pro nobis") and from 1950 (inscription "Sancta Maria ora pro nobis “), Which were cast by the bell foundry in Hamm. The chimes are tuned to F minor (f′-as′-c ″).
