Bodo von Gladebeck

Bodo von Gladebeck ( October 15, 1620 in Münchenlohra - August 13, 1681 in Cölln on the Spree ) was a Prussian statesman.

Life

Origin and family

Bodo von Gladebeck was a son of the heir of the same name on Harste (1593-1620) and Magdalena, née von Oppershausen. He married in 1652 with Elisabeth Magdalene von Spörcken (1629–1666) and in 1668 in second marriage with Christiane Elisabeth von Münchhausen (1650–1718). A total of six children were born, including:

  • Anna Katharina von Gladebeck (1652–1726), ⚭ 1666 Krafft Burkhard von Bodenhausen (1647–1716)
  • Christine Lucie von Gladebeck (1671–1723), heiress of Zedtlitz Castle , which her mother had rebuilt in 1706 in a contemporary Baroque style , ⚭ 1689 with Otto Christopher from the Winckel on Wettin and Kriegsdorf (1665–1738)
  • Adolph Friedrich von Gladebeck († 1701), with him the von Gladebeck family died out in the male line .

Career

Gladebeck initially served as a Privy Councilor in Brunswick . In 1666 he had the church of St. Gangolf , which had been with his family since 1590, renovated. In the church of St. Johannis in Nohra , where he was hereditary lord, there is an epitaph , also from 1666. Gladebeck was also the guardian of the later orphaned Prussian infantry general Otto von Schlabrendorf (1650–1721). After moving to the Brandenburg service, on June 10, 1676, he became the oldest and real Privy Councilor , General War Commissioner and President of the Court Chamber in Berlin. Around 1676 Gladebeck governor of Lebus and Fürstenwalde . He was also the heir to Wuntsche, Lohr and Wolffleben.
