history

The St. Bartholomew Church emerged from a medieval hall building with a choir tower and took on its present form in 1582 through a renovation and a tower elevation.

description

The church tower with a Welsch dome and arched two-part acoustic windows stands as a choir tower in the east. The choir room in the basement has a reticulated vault and two ogival windows. The sacristy is built on the north side of the church tower. The nave with three window axes and a gable roof has a flat roof . A round choir arch separates it from the choir room. The windows are segment arcs . There is a stair tower on the southern wall.

Furnishing

The mural in the sacristy dates from the 15th century and shows the Last Judgment . The sacristy door in the choir is framed by hermen pilasters . There is a painting of the crucifixion on the altar . Figures of the four evangelists are attached to the pulpit . A crucifixion group and the Saxon coat of arms can be seen above the choir arch . A gallery running around three sides is built into the nave . The organ is on the west side of the gallery . The church houses tombs of the von Maßbach family from the 15th and 16th centuries.
