St. Johannis (Obergebra)
The Evangelical-Lutheran , listed village church of St. Johannis is located in Obergebra , a district of the town of Bleicherode in the Nordhausen district in Thuringia . The parish Obergebra belongs to the parish area Niedergebra in Kirchenkreis Südharz the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The oldest previous building is from the 13th century. In the 14./15. In the 19th century a fortified church was built . In 1517 the old nave was replaced by an enlarged new building. The hall church was built from rubble stones . The nave is provided with a gable roof. The transversely rectangular, recessed choir tower has narrow Gothic windows and is covered with a high, slate-covered hip roof. There are three bells hanging in the tower , one from 1456 with the strike note As, one from 1660 with the strike note F and one as a replacement for a 2001 melted down in World War I with the strike note c sharp. The interior has galleries on three sides and is covered with a wooden barrel vault. The choir has a ribbed vault . The chancel opens to the nave with a blunt, pointed triumphal arch . In the east there is a small extension with a pointed arched door, which also has a ribbed vault. It used to be used as a sacristy . One pulpit altar is from the end of the 18th century. The organ with 21 registers , divided into 2 manuals and a pedal , was built in 1921 by an unknown organ builder and rebuilt in 1934 by Georg Kiessling & Sons.
