St. Joseph the Bridegroom (Speicherz)
The Roman Catholic branch church of St. Josef the Bridegroom is the village church of Speicherz in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen . The church is one of the architectural monuments of Motten and is registered under the number D-6-72-134-28 in the Bavarian list of monuments . Speicherz is part of the parish community St. Georg Bad Brückenau - Maria Ehrenberg .
history
Speicherz was initially a branch of the Motten parish , which was founded in the 16th century, and from 1954 of the Kothen parish, which was separated from Motten . For centuries the village had no church of its own. It was not until 1925 that the church was built in the Baroque style of the homeland .
description
The church tower on the north side of the nave is built over a porch bordered by round arches . He has an onion cap. The nave has two window axes with arched windows. Its ceiling is a barrel vault . The southern choir with three-eighths closure and a flat ceiling is windowless. The choir arch is a segment arch . The sacristy is built on the west side of the nave.
Furnishing
Above the tabernacle of the high altar there is a painting of St. Joseph with the child Jesus . Above the right side altar, the only side altar in the church. there is a similar painting of St. Mary , also with a child. The wooden pulpit stands on a pillar to the left of the choir arch . The organ is set up on the northern gallery . The bells are tuned in the notes a '- c ”- d”.
