St. Lukas (Krippehna)
The Church of St. Lukas is a sacred building of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany in Krippehna , a district of the municipality of Zschepplin in the west of the district of North Saxony , near Eilenburg . It is in the center of the village in the cemetery.
Building history
The oldest building activity on the three-nave church dates back to the first half of the 13th century. The nave was built in 1701 , after a fire the church was rebuilt in 1768. The sacristy was enlarged in 1845.
The interior of the church was renovated in 1973, and the exterior of the church was renovated in 1993/1994. In 2017, the roof and the roof truss were completely repaired.
The building has elements of the Romanesque , Baroque and Historicism styles .
features
The building is a plastered field stone and quarry stone building with a closed choir , buttresses , west tower with an octagonal bell storey , hood and lantern .
The interior is a two-bay nave, divided into three groin-vaulted naves by two pillars , with a three-sided gallery , sacristy with pointed barrel vault. The furnishings include a multi-storey altar structure, a baptism and a crucifix.
Hahnel organ
A national specialty is the organ from 1771 by Johann Ernst Hähnel . This was completely restored from 2015 to 2018 by the organ workshop Kristian Wegscheider from Dresden, the total cost was 280,000 euros.
"With the renovation of the historical instrument, a special gem could be preserved for posterity, which testifies to the little-known organ building tradition in Saxony."
The all-day re-inauguration with church service, with a Faust performance framed by organ music and with an independent organ concert took place on September 2, 2018. Organist Florian Zschucke from Dessau played the inauguration concert.

In the immediate vicinity, at the entrance of the cemetery, is the associated rectory, which has also been renovated.

- As one of thirteen churches, the Church of Krippehna is a nominee for the Church of the Year 2019 campaign for this award, which the KiBa Foundation awards. The vote runs until April 26, 2019.
- From 1964 to 2000, Friedemann Steiger, also known as an author, was the pastor of this parish.
