The Evangelical Lutheran Church St. Martini is in the walled cemetery on the steeply to Unstrut sloping hillside of Merxleben , a district of Bad Langensalza in Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis in Thuringia . The parish Merxleben belongs to the parish area Bad Langensalza in the parish of Mulhouse the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The Gothic hall church was built in 1557 and changed in 1609. In 1709 it received its present form. The nave, which is covered with a gable roof , is built from rubble stones . The choir is closed on three sides , the retracted church tower stands in the west. An eight-sided pointed helmet sits on the slate-covered top floor of the tower . The nave has galleries and is covered with a barrel vault. In the north, a sacristy with a patronage box was added, also equipped with a barrel vault. The windows in the choir show medallions with the birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ . The baptismal font , decorated with an arched frieze , is late Romanesque . The rest of the church furnishings come from the 18th and 19th centuries. Century. The organ with 7 registers , divided into a manual and a pedal , was built by Orgelbau Schönefeld in 1994 .
