St. Peter and Paul (Kraftsdorf)

In 1648 the church was badly damaged by floods . In 1844 the construction of a new church began. This classicistic hall church was completed in 1848. It has the church tower in the west and a high, semicircular apse in the east . The nave is covered with a slate pitched roof. Its high arched windows have frames with tracery-like decorations in the arches. The tower has a squat, bulbous slate-roofed dome with a lantern . The nave has galleries on three sides ; on the long sides they are two-story. The apse on the ground floor is closed by a wall with windows and on the upper floor by glazed boxes and a central pulpit . Closed church stalls for the upscale stalls are located north and south of the free-standing altar and on both sides of the west entrance. The classical altar has communion benches on the side . A painting imitating Italian Renaissance painting shows Jesus Christ . A kneeling baptismal angel comes from the 18th century, a hovering angel with a palm branch from the 17th century. The wooden baptismal font has a table-shaped top held by painted angels. On the board there is a painting with the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the family of the founder. The organ with 22 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built in 1848 by Ernst Poppe & Sohn .
