St. Remigius Church in Raisting

The Catholic parish church of St. Remigius in Raisting , a community in the Upper Bavarian district of Weilheim-Schongau , was consecrated to St. Remigius in 1458 . The church at Kirchenweg 1 is a protected architectural monument .

In the years 1692 to 1696 a new building was built by the Vorarlberg master builder Michael Natter on behalf of the Dießen monastery . To the nave with three yokes , the retracted, closed on three sides includes choir at. The structure is structured by pilasters with a frieze band and cornice . The tower in the north has an octagonal two-storey superstructure and is covered by an onion dome.

Furnishing

In the years 1766 to 1782 the highly baroque furnishings were redesigned in the late rococo style by the Raistingen artist Thomas Schaidhauf, with a few exceptions . The court painter Christian Wink is handed down as the creator of the ceiling frescoes . The fresco in the nave was replaced by a ceiling painting by Karl Manninger in 1947 .
