Stanislaw Walentinowitsch Wolschenzew ( Russian Станислав Валентинович Волженцев ; born October 28, 1985 in Orsk ) is a Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Wolschenzew first appeared in 2007 at the U23 World Championships in Tarvisio . There he won silver in the 30 km skiathlon race . He has been taking part in the Eastern Europe Cup since 2007 . He has had five victories so far and won the overall standings in the 2008/09 and 2017/18 seasons. In the 2011/12 season he took second place in the overall standings. He ran his first races in the World Cup in the 2007/08 Tour de Ski , which he finished in 48th place. In January 2011 in Otepää he achieved tenth place over 15 km classic, his first top ten placement in a World Cup race. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 , he finished seventh with the relay and just missed a medal over 15 km in fourth place. At the Russian cross-country skiing championships in Rybinsk in 2011 , he won gold over 15 km classic. At the Russian cross-country skiing championships in 2012 in Tyumen , he again won gold over 15 km classic and silver in the sprint. In February 2012, he achieved his first podium in the World Cup with second place with the relay in Nové Mesto . At the Russian cross-country skiing championships 2013 in Syktyvkar , he won silver over 15 km freestyle. He took part in the Tour de Ski 2013/14 , which he did not finish. Nevertheless, he managed to finish third in the 15 km mass start in Lenzerheide . At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he took 19th place over 15 km classic. He finished the World Cup season in 37th place in the overall World Cup ranking and in 18th place in the distance ranking. At the Russian cross-country skiing championships in Tyumen in 2014, he won gold once and silver twice. He finished the Tour de Ski 2015 in 14th place. At the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun , he came in 13th place in the skiathlon. In the overall World Cup of the 2014/15 season, he finished 23rd. After finishing 25th in the World Cup mini tour in Ruka at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, he finished in the top ten three times in the further course of the season. At the Tour de Ski 2016 he finished 28th and at the Ski Tour Canada 40th place and at the end of the season he finished 37th in the overall World Cup and 26th in the Distance World Cup. At the beginning of the following season he came in the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer on the 22nd place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , he achieved 22nd place over 15 km classic. He finished the Tour de Ski 2017/18 in 26th place
