Stefan Knapp (born January 21, 1957 in Brühl ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

His professional career almost began in the 1976/77 season at SV Waldhof Mannheim in the 2nd Bundesliga . In Knapp's seventh season at Waldhof, the 1982/83 season , he won with his teammates - Uwe Zimmermann , Roland Dickgießer , Günter Sebert , Dieter Schlindwein , Dimitrios Tsionanis , Oskar Bauer , Wolfgang Böhni , Jürgen Fischer , Hans Hein , Alfred Schön , Ulf Quaisser , Pantelis Tsionanis , Karl-Heinz Bührer , Volker Kispert , Paul Linz , Jürgen Makan and Fritz Walter won the championship and the associated promotion to the Bundesliga under the leadership of coach Klaus Schlappner .
