Steinbrücken is a district of the city of Neustadt an der Orla in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

geography

Steinbrücken lies on the northern edge of the Southeast Thuringian Slate Mountains . To the east, the state road 1027 from Schleiz to Neustadt runs past the Orla . To the west of the hilly slopes towards Weira is forest.

history

The village was first mentioned on April 26, 1457. The place was and is characterized by agriculture. As part of agriculture in the GDR , the local farmers were included in the local agribusiness association . After the reunification of the two German states, they also found new ways of cultivating land.

On July 1, 1950, Steinbrücken was incorporated into the community of Linda near Neustadt an der Orla . On December 31, 2019, this was again incorporated into Neustadt an der Orla.
