Bucha is a district of the city of Neustadt an der Orla in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia ( Germany ).

Bucha lies above a side valley east of Ziegenrück along the Ziegenrück - Knau road, flanked to the east by the ponds and lakes of the Knauer area.
With the KomBus lines 946 and 968 , Bucha has connections to the cities of Pößneck , Ranis , Schleiz and Ziegenrück .

The soils of the Southeast Thuringian Slate Mountains have a high proportion of fine soil and a high humus content and, in connection with the climate, are very fertile.

history
Bucha was first mentioned in a document on February 21, 1071. The place belonged to the Electoral Saxon Office Ziegenrück until 1815 and after its assignment, decided at the Congress of Vienna , came with the majority of the Neustädter Kreis to the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach .
On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Bucha was incorporated into Knau. On December 31, 2019, Knau was again incorporated into Neustadt an der Orla. Until then, Bucha was part of the Lake District administrative community .
