Stephen Reichert
Stephen Joseph Reichert OFMCap (born May 14, 1943 in Leoville , Kansas , USA ) is an American religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Madang .
Life
Stephen Reichert joined the religious order of the Capuchin in, put the profession from the 1963rd The Bishop of Salina , Cyril John Vogel , ordained him on September 27, 1969 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Mendi on February 3, 1995 . The episcopal ordination received his his predecessor Firmin Martin Schmidt OFMCap on May 7 of that year; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Ramiro Moliner Inglés , Apostolic Nuncio in Papua New Guinea , and Michael Meier SVD , Archbishop of Mount Hagen .
On November 30, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Archbishop of Madang. The ceremonial inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on February 2, 2011. Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on July 26, 2019.
