Location of Steuden in Teutschenthal

Steuden is a district of the municipality of Teutschenthal in the Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).

history

Steuden was first mentioned around 800. Steuden and the Etzdorf manor belonged to the Schraplau sub-office in the Schraplau district of the Mansfeld county . When the county of Mansfeld was divided in 1738/80, both places with the Schraplau sub-office received the share that the Prussian Duchy of Magdeburg received. With the Peace of Tilsit in 1807, Steuden and Etzdorf were incorporated into the Kingdom of Westphalia and assigned to the Halle district in the Saale department. They came to the canton of Schraplau . After Napoleon's defeat and the end of the Kingdom of Westphalia, Napoleon's allied opponents liberated the area in early October 1813.

In the course of the political reorganization after the Congress of Vienna in 1815, Steuden and the Etzdorf estate district were attached to the Merseburg administrative district of the Prussian province of Saxony in 1816 and incorporated into the Mansfeld lake district. In 1928 the Etzdorf estate was incorporated into Steuden. In the course of the first district reform in the GDR, Steuden was reclassified to the Saalkreis on July 1, 1950 . With the second district reform was carried out on 25 July 1952, the reclassification of Steuden in the county Eisleben and on 4 December 1952 in the newly tailored Saalkreis in the district of Halle . Since 1994, Steuden has been part of the Würde / Salza administrative community . Due to the incorporation into Teutschenthal on January 1, 2010, Steuden is a place of the municipality of Teutschenthal with the districts of Steuden and Etzdorf. The last mayor of Steudens was Siegfried Schlegel.
