The Kantan Schraplau was an administrative unit in the Halle district of the Saale department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia . The capital of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace was Schraplau in today's Saalekreis . The canton comprised 11 parishes and several hamlets , was inhabited by 4,259 people and had an area of 2.32 square miles . It had emerged from part of the Schraplau district of the Magdeburg part of the county of Mansfeld . Canton notary was Mr. Weimann and justice of the peace Mr. Löw.
