The canton Mansfeld was an administrative unit in the Halle district of the Saale department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia . The main town of the canton and seat of the peace court was Mansfeld in today's district of Mansfeld-Südharz . The canton comprised a city, 6 parishes and several hamlets , was inhabited by 5279 people and had an area of 1.95 square miles . It emerged from the Magdeburg-Mansfeld office of Leimbach .
