The route runner ( spelling : STRECKENLÆUFER ) is a Saarland literary magazine that was founded in Saarbrücken in 1990. It is published by PoCul-Verlag with an edition of 200 copies.

A new booklet will appear as soon as sufficient texts of the required quality are available. The booklets contain poetic or essayistic texts. So far, 33 issues with texts by unknown and established authors have been published. Well-known authors such as Arnfrid Astel , Konstantin Ames , Michael Buselmeier , Andreas Dury , Jörg Gronius , Oleg Jurjew , Olga Martynova , Sonja Ruf , Klaus Theweleit , Nora Wagener , Hans Bernhard Schiff , Christopher Ecker , Werner Klippert , Jean Krier , Sabine Göttel , Gerhard Dancer , Klaus Bernarding , Guy Helminger , Joachim Durrang , Marcus Imbsweiler , Kurt Oesterle , Ralph Schock , Alex Dreppec have published in STRECKENLÆUFER to date. The distance runner also offers young authors an important forum for their first publications and serves as a bridge to the German-language literary scene in Luxembourg.

The current editorial team consists of Klaus Behringer, Peter Herbertz, Steffen Aug, Dominik Stutz, Natascha Denner, Irina Rosenau, Raoul Sinner and Tilo Mörgen. PoCul-Verlag is sponsored by the PoCul-Verein für Politik und Cultur Saarbrücken eV For the production and publication of magazines and books, the PoCul-Verein has founded the APO, the committee for production and organization of educational work. In addition to the distance runner, the publisher publishes prose and poetry. The publications are regularly discussed in the press and on the radio or presented at readings.
