Kurt Oesterle
Kurt Oesterle (born May 17, 1955 in Oberrot , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German journalist and writer .
Career
Oesterle passed the Abitur in Schwäbisch Hall and then did his community service in a youth home in Stuttgart . From 1976 to 1983 he studied German , philosophy and history at the University of Tübingen . In 1989 he did his doctorate there under Walter Jens with a thesis on Peter Weiss ' The Aesthetics of Resistance .
His journalistic activity began in 1980 at the Tübingen regional studio of Südwestfunk . After receiving his doctorate, he worked as an editor for a local radio station. Since 1988 he has written literary reviews and essays for the Schwäbisches Tagblatt and since 1992 for the Süddeutsche Zeitung . He also wrote poetry interpretations for the Frankfurter Anthologie of the FAZ .
In 1997 Oesterle received the Theodor Wolff Prize for his essay "The Secret German Hymne" on the song " The Good Comrade " by Ludwig Uhland and Friedrich Silcher . In 2002 his autobiographical novel Der Fernsehgast was published , for which he was awarded the Berthold Auerbach Prize , and in 2003 the Großessay Stammheim. The story of the law enforcement officer Horst Bubeck on the history of the RAF .
In 2007 Oesterle was awarded the Ludwig Uhland Prize and took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt.
He lives in Tübingen .
