Constantine Ames

Konstantin Ames (* 1979 in Völklingen ) is a German writer.

Life

After graduating from the Technical and Scientific Gymnasium in Dillingen / Saar , Konstantin Ames studied communication and media studies , philosophy , general and comparative literature and modern German literature at the universities of Greifswald and Leipzig . He completed his studies with a master's thesis on the cooperation between the Becher Literature Institute and the Mitteldeutschem Verlag. Ames is a DLL graduate and has lived in Berlin for several years . In addition to his work as a writer, he works as a translator and publishes literary reviews , v. a. to new publications in the field of poetry , etc. a. for literaturkritik.de , for the Saarbrücker Zeitung and for the daily newspaper published in Esch / Alzette .

• Florian Kessler put the publication 08/15 hegemonien on the list of poetry recommendations 2018 and described the translation work as artistic .
• Michael Braun notes the habitus of Ames and the style of his fourth volume of poetry: The author prefers the attitude of the wild language anarchist, who uses the whole register of pun, anti-grammatical furor and imaginative art of association against an ideologically embittered linguistic order. Ames transforms his elegies, which are laid out as lamentations due to their ancient history of origin, into furious songs of anger.
