Studio 47 is a private regional television broadcaster for the western Ruhr area and the Lower Rhine , based in Duisburg .

history

The station went on air on March 20, 2006. Studio 47 was the first regional TV broadcaster in North Rhine-Westphalia to be granted a broadcasting license by the State Media Authority for Media in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The editor-in-chief is Sascha Devigne.

At its meeting on June 27, 2014, the media commission of the State Media Authority for Media in North Rhine-Westphalia extended the station's approval for another five years, i.e. until the end of 2019, and in 2019 it was announced that it would be extended by a further 10 years until the end of 2029.

Studio 47 broadcasts 24/7 on digital cable and internet television . The program focuses on self-produced magazine programs, including Studio 47 .live, Studio 47 .die woche, Spruchreif - der Talk , ImPuls , Quinte and Finally at home.

The program can be received in Alpen (Niederrhein) , Dinslaken , Duisburg , Düsseldorf-Angermund , Hamminkeln , Hünxe , Kamp-Lintfort , Moers , Mülheim an der Ruhr , Neukirchen-Vluyn , Oberhausen , Rees , Rheinberg , Rheurdt , Schermbeck , Voerde and Wesel via the digital cable network of Vodafone NRW (former Unitymedia) as well as on the Internet around the clock and throughout Germany via MagentaTV and MagentaZuhause.

Range

According to the coverage study conducted by the Berlin company INFO GmbH, which was carried out on behalf of the State Agency for Media in North Rhine-Westphalia (LfM), Studio 47 has an average of around 175,000 viewers (as of April 2014). This corresponds to a quota of 56.0% in the transmission area. The national average for regional TV stations is 38.0%.

Companies

The shares in the company were initially held by the founders Sascha Devigne, Jürgen Schardt, Stephan Wesche and Jörg Zeiler. From 2008 to 2017, Rheinisch-Bergische Verlagsgesellschaft mbH in Düsseldorf held 30 percent of the shares. Since May 2017, the shares have been fully held by the founding shareholders.

Awards

In 2013, editor-in-chief Sascha Devigne was awarded the German regional television award “Regiostar” in the “Best Moderator” category.

In 2016, Till Hannes Hümbs, deputy production manager of the station, also won the German regional television award “Regiostar” in the “Best journeyman piece” category.

In 2017 the daily magazine “STUDIO 47 .live” was awarded the German regional television award “Regiostar” in the category “Best News Journal”.

In 2018, editor Alrik Seidel was awarded the German regional television award “Regiostar” in the “Best Interview” category.
