Studnitz (noble family)
Studnitz (Czech ze Studnic ) is the name of an old West Moravian aristocratic family with the headquarters of the same name (today Studnice ) south of Groß Meseritsch .
history
The family is first mentioned in a document with Philipp Hrb from the Herbau house (today Hrbov, district of Velké Meziříčí ) near Groß Meseritsch in 1358 and with his son Johann Hrb von Studnitz in 1377 under the current name. According to other information, the name of Studnitz was first mentioned in a document in 1306. Wenzel III. beat Benedictus, Andreas and Georg Studnitz to knights in the year mentioned. The secure line of tribe begins with Georg von Studnitz (1478-1532), landlord on Geraltitz (later Jeroltschütz ) near Konstadt , with whom the family finally settled in Silesia in 1499 . The latter had married the heir to the landlord of Strachwitz on Jerolschütz. As a result, he became the founder of the Studnitz-Jerolschütz and Studnitz-Simmenau lines, which later split up into several lines, namely the Kritschen and Groß-Peterwitz houses.
The noble family founded a family association in 1912 , which meets every two years.
In 1991 in Świercze, the former Schönwald ( Olesno district , formerly Rosenberg in Upper Silesia ), the street on December 15th was renamed the von Studnitz-Straße family .
