Suiderhof ( African for southern courtyard ) is a suburb of Windhoek and is located in the southern part of the city. The largest square in Suiderhof is the relaxation area , historically so named when horses and oxen were used here. Suiderhof borders in the north on the southern industrial area, in the south on the Windhoek suburb of Olympia and is also on the B1 national road .

Suiderhof is a district of the Afrikaans-speaking middle class population and is characterized by individual houses, small businesses and little industry. One of the largest barracks in the country is also located here.
