Heinitzburg in the district

Luxury hill ( english Luxury Hill ) is a neighborhood of the Namibian capital Windhoek . It is located on a hill in the center of the city and borders the districts of Klein Windhoek in the east and is otherwise surrounded by Windhoek-Central .

The district is dominated by the three Windhoek city castles Heinitzburg , Sanderburg and Schwerinsburg . Large villas and single houses can be found here as a purely residential area. It is considered to be one of the most expensive parts of Windhoek.

Maerua Mall , the largest shopping center in Namibia, is located in the southwest of the district .

Surname

The German term "Luxushügel" can still be found on most of the suburban signs and is often still used in everyday language. The English name has not yet caught on.
