The Segama ( mal. Sungai Segama ) or Segama River is a river in the Malaysian state of Sabah on Borneo . It rises in the mountain region near the Danum Valley Conservation Area in the east of Sabah and runs 350 kilometers from the highlands to the confluence with the Sulu Sea . The Segama with its headwaters and tributaries drains an area of 2450 km².
geology
The Segama area is characterized by low, gently undulating hills that connect to a mountainous region on the upper reaches. The southern catchment area consists of basic and intermediate rock , while the northern catchment area and the upper reaches consist of sandstone and claystone.
