The Kalumpang ( mal. Sungai Kalumpang ) or Kalumpang River is a river in the Malaysian state of Sabah on Borneo . It rises in Tawau Hill Park , a low mountain range north of Tawau and runs from there to the shallow mouth in Sibuko Bay , which in turn opens to the Celebes Sea. In the estuary is the island of Pulau Kalumpang . The Sungai Kalumpang runs in large parts on the border between the Tawau district and the Semporna district .

The lower reaches of the Kalumpang are used to cultivate tiger prawns ( Penaeus monodon ). Romspect Sdn. Bhd. owned by tropical timber tycoon John Nip.
