Susanne Riemer

Susanne Riemer (born April 25, 1972 in Bonn ) is a German jazz musician ( trumpet , piano , vocals and composition ). She was the first musician to play the corno da caccia , a baroque instrument that was only reconstructed a few years ago.

Live and act

Riemer learned trumpet from the age of ten and founded his own jazz combo at the age of 15 . She also played in the big band at the Brühl Music School and took part in workshops by Peter Herbolzheimer and Jerry van Rooyen . She took lessons from Jon Eardley , John Marshall and Klaus Osterloh before studying with Uli Beckerhoff at the Folkwang Hochschule . Since 1991 she has been a member of the Federal Jazz Orchestra ; she also played in the United Women's Orchestra , Frank Reinshagen's big band and the Ska group Peel Slippers . In 1994 she was also part of the ensemble for the musical Hair . In 1997 she founded the Croky Band and in the following year took over the musical direction of the cabaret production Missfits for WDR television with the formation Die 5 Lewinskys . Since 1999 she has been playing swing and bebop with her Susanne Riemer quartet . In 2008 she performed a composition commissioned by the EuRegionale 2008 in the coronation hall of Aachen city hall with an orchestra of Belgian, Dutch and German jazz musicians . She was also a member of the salsa band Jazminas , the Miss Jones Orchestra and Robert Kreis and his jazz sextants.
