Susanne Weber (pedagogue)

Susanne Weber (* 1961 in Braunschweig ) is a German economist and business educator who has been researching and teaching as a professor at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich since 2005 . Her research focuses in particular on educational research and empirical pedagogy .

Life

Weber completed an apprenticeship as a banker from 1978 to 1980 and worked in this profession for another five years. In 1985 she passed the immaturity examination and began studying business education at the Georg-August University in Göttingen , which she graduated in 1990 as a business teacher. Until her doctorate in 1994 as Dr. rer. pole. she worked in the seminar for business education in Göttingen as a research assistant and then until 2004 as a research assistant . She completed her dissertation summa cum laude on the subject of prior knowledge in business administration. A structure and content analysis study . Weber undertook several international research stays at various universities and worked in various international working groups. Among other things, she was involved in the Erasmus program . Furthermore, she sits on the institute board of the relevant seminar. Weber has been married to the former professor and business educator Frankhabenhagen since 1994 .

Research priorities

Weber's focus can be found in vocational education . In particular, it examines the importance of prior knowledge and key qualifications as well as the interlinking of individual and collective teaching and learning processes in a professional context. One of her main focuses is the empirical verifiability, measurement and evaluation of professional competence as well as the development of the basics of a professional PISA on a national and international level. In this regard, she takes up the term “ multi-dimensional teaching-learning arrangements ”, which plays a special role in the context of action-oriented teaching in connection with various media uses such as business games . Furthermore, Weber conducts research in the field of intercultural learning and education management - especially in the field of “ Entre- and Intrapreneurship Education”. This is about the modeling and implementation of entrepreneurial thinking and action in a curricular context .

Weber is a member of the German Society for Educational Science , the Society for Empirical Educational Research, the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction, the American Educational Research Association and International Management Education in Helsinki. Weber has also been working in the editorial team of the Human Resource Development Review since 2006 and of the Vocations and Learning - Studies in Vocational and Professional Education since 2008 and is co-editor of the journal for learning research , teaching science .
